S-Tech launches exciting new insurance facility for Games Industry

November 7, 2016

Cambridge based Independent Insurance Broker S-Tech is launching a new facility specifically for the growing Games Industry.

GameS-Tech, launching in conjunction with industry trade association TIGA, aims to offer a cost effective and innovative insurance solution for a whole range of Companies and individuals working within the industry, from Developers, Publishers, Quality Assurance & Localisation Services, Graphic Design companies etc.

Launching on 07 November, GameS-Tech will be run by a team, led by Account Executive Kate Rhodes, who already works with a number of the UK’s leading Games Companies and niche operators. “The UK Games sector is the largest in Europe. Until now the route to get a quotation has been quite arduous with long inappropriate proposal forms to complete.  Often Companies don’t know what they are buying and often opt for an off the shelf IT package that doesn’t offer the cover they need.” says Kate.

Companies working in the Games Industry face a range of challenges. “The most common claims issues revolve around contractual issues including non-performance, injury caused through players imitating actions seen in games, breach of intellectual property rights and the use of freelance sub-contractors. The claims we see are sizeable and could have a significant impact on client’s business. Thankfully we have an experienced claims team dedicated to getting the right results for our clients.” Kate explains.

With GameS-Tech there are three customised packages, a simplified form and quick quote turnaround. GameS-Tech will be working with well-known Global Insurance Companies who have helped to evolve this facility.  The policy includes all the essential elements such as Statutory Employers Liability, Professional Indemnity, and Directors & Officers Liability along with more general insurance covers such as Property & Assets.

Individuals and Companies can visit the GameS-Tech website www.games-tech.co.uk  where they can download the short proposal form or send an enquiry to arrange a face to face with Kate and her team.

There are also special offers for members of TIGA.

GameS-Tech are sponsoring the TIGA Industry Awards on 10 November and Kate will be happy to meet with members on the night.

This fast moving business has been crying out for a quick, flexible solution to enable individuals and Companies to obtain the range of insurance covers needed in each sector of the Games Industry.

We are delighted to have evolved this facility, in conjunction with S-Tech, and would encourage all our members to give the service a try"

Dr. Richard Wilson, TIGA
